Artist: Pierre-Joseph Redoute (1759-1840) was the most accomplished botanical illustrator of the late 18th and early 19th century.

Description: These exquisite rose details are taken from one of Redoute's most famous works, Les Roses (1817-1824), created for Empress Josephine to showcase her rose collection at the Chateau of Malmaison. This series was developed in conjunction with the New York Botanical Gardens, from rare book collections of the Lu Esther T. Mertz Library. Color palette is several shades of pinks with green leaves on a white background.

 ~ Constructed from hardboard and cork backed.  ~ Heat resistant up to 230ºF/110ºC.  ~ Unique glossy finish to enhance design and presentation. ~ Wipe with a damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth – do not immerse in water.  ~ Do not place cookware taken directly from the oven onto placemats.
