Description:
Kikka Meiji-sen, or Catalog of Select Chrysanthemums, is a very rare nursery
catalog published in Tokyo in 1981. It features 25 full-page color woodcuts of
Kiku (Chrysanthemum) varieties that were developed by Imai and Seibi Mizumoto. A
superb example of a specialty trade publication geared to both Japanese and
Western consumers, the flowers are captioned in Japanese and Romanized script.
Both printing quality and color of the images are extraordinary and the paper is
laden with tiny flecks of gold leaf that further enhance them.
The pale yellow and orangey-red
Chrysanthemums are backed with a buttery-cream background with yellow undertones.
Please Note: This
is a multi view design, including four different images.
